We are all primary numbers divisible only by ourselves.

Me-as-a-student. I'm a graduate student at the University of Iowa, where I'm studying mechanical engineering and electrical engineering in the hopes of earning a master's degree (or two). My areas of interest are dynamic systems, computational engineering, controls, instrumentation, and signal processing -- it all somewhat works together. I'm fairly good at it, if you judge by grades - my GPA's over 3.75/4.00. During the school year, school is my primary focus; I pay for school by taking internships so I don't need to be splitting my focus between my coursework and my research/teaching/grading.
Me-as-a-professional. I'm a certified (or is it licensed?) engineer-in-training here in the state of Iowa. While there aren't ConEd requirements for the EIT status here, I would probably exceed them with my grad school efforts. I just finished a six and a half month internship in Cleveland, working with Alcoa's Investment Casting and Forged Products division, where I worked with things involving the surface finish for wheels, and in May, I should be starting another internship.
Me-as-a-nomad. I love to travel, and one of the easiest ways to do it is to take short term employment in places that you want to visit. So, over the last few years, I've lived in: France, San Diego, Albuquerque, Cleveland, Lexington Park (in the greater DC area, if you consider an hour's drive "in the area"), Gainesville, and a few cities in Iowa. I've also visited quite a few countries, including: Canada, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Antigua, and St Martin. One of my friends is trying to convince me to visit her in Mozambique, and I just may take her up on that one of these days!
Just me, as my family knows me. I'm the eldest of three. Because I go to school only 45 minutes away, I live with my parents to save on rent n what not. I tutor my sister (and whomever she invites that night) in precalculus most nights - she's a bit of a mathphobe. I have two cats, but so do my parents, so it's a rare time that you don't see a cat around. We like to play board and card games as a family. One of the hobbies I picked up in grad school is knitting. I also picked up cooking as a hobby (or is that obsession?) - constantly reading cookbooks and trying new things out. (A third hobby seems to be interior painting, as I've ended up painting most of my parents' house since I moved in.) Where most people may collect cards or knick knacks, I collect perfume oils ... and have started collecting jewelry as well (only to find that it's cheaper than the perfume - and lasts just as long!).
